Zephyr, also known as Z, is the leader of the Neo Marines and the main antagonist of One Piece Film: Z. He was once Admiral of the Sea and Marine Instructor before finally resigning.
Appearance
Zephyr is a large, muscular and brown-skinned man, about twice as tall as a person like Luffy, with short purple hair and a large mechanical right arm connected to the left hip with ties. Inside the mechanical arm there is a normal sized black protestic arm. He used clothes such as a Navy robe with Jolly Roger printed on it, trousers inserted into shoes, and triangular shaped glasses.
He suffered from respiratory problems because of his age, so he needed an aerosol.
As a Navy admiral, his standard clothes consisted of purple clothes with a Marine jacket stuck on his shoulder like a robe. Zephyr also wore a pink shirt with a polka-dot tie in his purple color clothes.
At the age of 28, Zephyr kept hooking the marine cloak on his shoulder and wearing a white V-necked shirt with a marine logo printed on it.
During his time as a young man in the G-5 unit, Zephyr looked smaller and less muscular and used the uniform of a lowly soldier, consisting of a white short-sleeved shirt with a Marine symbol, a seagull with "MARINE" underneath, behind; a blue scarf; dark blue trousers; and a baseball cap with the words "MARINE" in front of it. He was seen carrying a shotgun and backpack.
He wore a red helmet on the head with the letter "Z" in front of him, and big glasses. He wore a sleeveless yellow shirt, light blue shorts, brown shoes and white gloves. He also carried a wooden sword and had prosthetic wood used on his right arm.
Personality
Zephyr strongly believed in justice and struggle, joined the Navy only to fulfill his wishes, and resigned as soon as he realized that this organization was not what he expected. According to Garp, Zephyr is the person who most believes in justice.
Initially a jovial figure, becoming popular among his subordinates and creating a happy family, his life turned bad when his wife and child were killed by pirates, and then all his cadets except two people killed and Zephyr lost his right arm, his assailant would later become the Shichibukai. Losses and injustice made Zephyr very much hate pirates, and after he left the Navy, he formed a group to kill all pirates, even if his actions counted against the World Government and the Navy. Hatred brought Zephyr to act irrationally like planning to destroy the New World to eradicate his enemies for the lives of innumerable innocent people.
Zephyr believes that pirates must be destroyed, and it is surprising that they must be imprisoned. His intense hatred made him act extreme to achieve his goals, both physically, such as stealing strong weapons from the Navy, or morally, such as raising his jolly roger. He also claimed that even if Luffy defeated him, no one would recognize him because he was a pirate, so strong he believed in the lack of worth of pirates.
Zephyr strongly believes in the power of dreams. His main ambition is to end the Age of Pirates, which he plans to succeed by destroying three geographical end points of the New World with the Dyna Stone and releasing enough magma to destroy the One Piece fairy tale, a plan he calls Grand Reboot ((グ ン リ ブ ー ト, Guran Ribūto ?) Although he claimed that, Zephyr seemed to realize that his plan would fail, and he told Luffy that he was happy that his plan could go this far.
Zephyr is displayed very bravely to the point where it concerns his life. Even in his old age, he faced the entire Navy platoon led by Kizaru without hesitation or worry. During the previous battle against Kizaru on Firs Island, he warned Kizaru that he had become overconfident since becoming an admiral, a rare attitude taken to face tough opponents.
Despite his hatred of pirates, Zephyr has a sense of respect, loyalty and respect for everyone, even his opponents, and honorable characters to the end; his final act, after fighting it out against Luffy, was to give his life.
