Bastille is a giant and Deputy Admiral of the Navy.
Appearance
The Bastille is the shortest giant, he serves as vice admiral, and is not part of the giant Forces. He wears a gray metal mask with fourteen (ten in the anime) eye holes, and two long curved bull horns. Long orange hair falls to the front of the chest and all of his hair can be seen coming down to his back. Like many other high officers, he wearing a double-breasted suit with a blue shirt and black tie, and a military coat over his shoulders, and a chain around the neck area.
In his youth, the hair and horns on his mask were much shorter, while there were only twelve holes in the mask.
Although called a giant, Bastille is very short in size, which is almost as tall as the Dalmatian.
Personality
As a Marine, he may hold a strong belief in justice. Whether he believes in moral justice or absolute justice, he does not know what he adheres to. but he looks unhappy at the carelessness of his men Maynard (Chapter 717).
Ability and Authority
As a deputy admiral of the Admiral, Bastille was able to lead a Buster Call along with other vice admirers. He also has authority over low-ranking subordinates.
Weapon
In the manga, Bastille is not seen carrying any weapons, but in the anime, Bastille carries a large sword with a Japanese handle wrapped in pink material, similar to the Vice Admiral with a long handle decorated with red gems, such as pommels, and knives with a rounder shape than the katana . However, he has not been seen using it.
After the time skip, in Dressrosa, he was seen carrying a large Zanbatō, with a design similar to a machete.
Haki
It was once stated that all vice admirals have Haki, so the Bastille can also use Haki's abilities. However, he has not been proven to use it.
History
Marineford Arc
When the execution of Portgas D. Ace was announced, Bastille reported the summons to the Marines to strengthen Marineford. Then, he is seen with his fellow vice admiral marching and ready to fight the Whitebeard Pirates.
When the Blackbeard Pirate arrived, Bastille was seen behind Strawberry, surprised to see Marshall D. Teach. With his new crew, none other than level 6 prisoners from Impel Down Chapter 576.
After Shanks arrived and called for a truce, Bastille withdrew along with the other Marines.
Dressrosa Arc
The Bastille and other large naval members gather outside the Corrida Colosseum, waiting to ambush and capture the criminals in the Corrida Colosseum. He was confused as to why no losers from Block A and B left to leave the Corrida Colosseum. When a Marine told him that Admiral Maynard had disguised himself as a participant in the match, but could not be contacted, Bastille criticized his junior admiral's deputy who had acted as he pleased and concluded that something bad might happen in the Colosseum.
Marine reported that a suspicious-looking man they had seen before was indeed a "Pirate Hunter" Roronoa Zoro and the man next to him was most likely the "Straw Hat" Monkey D. Luffy. Bastille concluded that the reason for Lucy's participants was so strong was because he was actually Monkey D. Luffy, aware of the pirates in the country, after everything had happened. Instead of going to follow them, the Bastille decides to leave them alone for a while, saying that if they move now, then all the criminals in the colosseum will scatter out of the exit, and they can lose their target in the midst of chaos. After his men mentioned who had lost the match, Bastille wondered who he really was.
A fight took place near Bastille and caught his attention. He and his men watched in surprise when Donquixote Doflamingo shot Trafalgar Law several times.
